From time to time we have food-tasting sessions in the adjacent Tithe Barn.  For example a  Shop Open Day was held on Sunday 21st June 2015, 3:00 - 6:00pm, when visitors tasted and browsed.  There was also a Barbecue in the Barn's courtyard. In the past we have organised Craft Fairs in the barn in aid of the Shop.  Our last Food Fair was on 20th February 2016, in the Tithe Barn. The Shop is sponsoring a Hallowe'en Family Disco on Friday 27th October 2017.

The shop supplies the Village Fete, which normally takes place on the Millennium Green on the fourth Sunday in June.

There are other community events of interest which take place in the Tithe Barn, such as the annual Sproughton Beer Festival which usually takes place in May.

We also organise 'Thank you' tea parties from time to time, for shop volunteers - (see photo at the end of this page).

Here's a photo of the chairman of Sproughton Parish Council making a speech on the occasion of the Community Shop's official opening on 27th March 2010. The BBC Radio Suffolk radio car is in attendance. Afterwards, we had local food-tasting in the adjacent Barley Room.

Here's a photo of some of the volunteers at a 'Thank you' party in September 2013.
